1. What is Let's Talk About It, Oklahoma?
Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma, a project of the Oklahoma Humanities Council, is a reading and discussion program series held in libraries across the state. Since 1985, "Let's Talk About It, Oklahoma" has provided libraries diverse and stimulating program themes to offer their communities. [back to questions]
2. What happens at a program?
Programs begin with a presentation by a humanities scholar, generally from an Oklahoma colleges or university. The scholar talks about the book, the author, historical contexts and literary trends. After a refreshment break, participants break into small groups where they have an opportunity to discuss the book. After lively discussions, groups reconvene to share brief highlights of their discussions and to hear the scholar wrap up the program. [back to questions]
3. Who can participate?
The program is free and open to anyone who has an interest in getting together with others to read and discuss books. [back to questions]
4. Do I have to buy any books to participate?
